Tom Catuosco
Biography

I have been playing guitar for over 25 years. My musical education began with a few years of piano lessons starting around 9 years old. In 8th grade, I wanted to learn the guitar after a friend showed me how to play the intro to “Stairway To Heaven”.
I began taking guitar lessons with the late Jeff Becker of Morris Plains, NJ. Jeff was widely considered to be one of the best guitar teachers in Northern NJ and I had the privilege of studying with him for 12 years. After Jeff’s passing, I have continued to study music on my own and began teaching guitar lessons about 10 years ago.
In addition to teaching guitar, I’ve played and recorded guitar various bands over the years – both original and cover bands (including an Iron Maiden tribute). I most recently played guitar in Central NJ based cover band “Black Cat”.
My musical influences are varied. A few of my favorite artists are Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Elvis Presley, Neil Diamond, The Police, The Who, Billy Joel, Metallica, Alice Cooper and Jim Croce.
